About Bear Naked Yogi
at Melrose Yoga

Bear Naked Yogi was founded by Forrest Kruger, a dedicated yoga instructor and wellness advocate, in partnership with James Edberg at Melrose Yoga in Phoenix. Forrest’s journey into yoga began in his late 30s, motivated by serious health challenges stemming from obesity and unhealthy habits. Determined to change his life, he committed to a holistic wellness path that included quitting smoking, improving his diet, and regular exercise. While his efforts yielded progress, a plateau led him to explore yoga, a decision that became the turning point in his transformation. Today, Forrest channels his passion for yoga to help others overcome their own challenges and embrace healthier, more balanced lives.

Our Story

At Melrose Yoga, Forrest and James have cultivated a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of background, size, or fitness level, can experience the transformative power of yoga. Through Bear Naked Yogi, Forrest draws on his extensive 200-hour in-person yoga teacher training to offer classes that go beyond the physical. His approach centers on fostering inner peace, self-acceptance, and overall well-being, with a strong belief that yoga is for every body.

As we age, maintaining or improving our range of motion becomes crucial to preserving mobility, independence, and quality of life.
