Yin Yoga is a calm, quiet practice that targets major connective tissues in the body – ligaments, tendons, muscles, joints and bones. One’s body naturally dries and contracts over the course of a lifetime and the Yin poses prompt the body to rehydrate and nourish the tissues. Yin poses require the muscles to mostly relax. The practice is primarily mat based, and poses are held for 3-5 minutes. I don't count breaths so much in this class as I use a stopwatch and allow you to concentrate on your stretch.
Yin Yoga is a powerful contemplative practice. The stillness of the poses allows the mind to relax, giving the yogi a meditative experience. It The main areas of focus are the spine, pelvis and lower limbs. The practice is appropriate for students of all levels.
Feel at ease in your body and to clear some chaos from the mind. Trying a Yin class yourself is the only way to understand this. OH and did I mention this class is conducted in a studio with other naked men?
